When people experience stress, it affects those closest to them. Significant others often must deal with the consequences of a stressed partner. It can change the nature of their relationship over time. People begin to feel dragged down and trapped when either they or their partner is continually stressed by everyday living. It may eventually cause the relationship to end unless a workable solution can be discovered.
